Payal Khanna [Biography] First wife of Aditya Chopra

Payal Khanna is the first wife of Indian movie director, producer and chairman of Yash Raj Films, Mr Aditya Chopra popularly known as Adi. The couple got married in 2001 and filed divorce in 2009. Yash Raj Films  (YRF) is a multinational brand of Indian Film Industry.

Payal was Adi's high school friend. Payal comes from a business family and she too prefers to stay away from the glam world. Adi's mother Pamela and Payal's mother have been best friends for many years.Payal is an interior designer and has also been closely involved in designing the Yash-Raj studios  in Andheri. Payal's family is an old friend of Chopra's family. Payal is considered as a very private and career oriented person.

After their marriage Adi became with Rani Mukherjee (A famous bollywood actress). It is said that Rani is the reason of divorce between Payal and Adi. Now Adi is getting married with Rani in february 2014. Though Rani and Aditya maintained dignified silence about their relationship, the duo couple of times clicked at the airport returning from a vacation. Rani and Aditya are very much in love and they are ready to settle down.

Although the divorce was not easy for Adi. Initially his parents did not agree with his decision. The divorce was initiated by Adi only. Adi had to leave the house and stay in a hotel for few days. Even Payal asked for a huge annual settlement from Adi (The settlement is considered in crores). The divorce is settled in a huge amount.
